Each track can be assigned one or more Genre and Subgenre pairs to aid in music search. A track can be assigned up to 6 Genre/Subgenre sets. You can use our default Genres or define your own.
There are two ways of doing this:
- Set them up manually in the ‘Genres’ page (described here).
- Enter your Genre/Subgenre details in your CSV file and import it as a whole. This will automatically create Genre and Subgenre entries on the ‘Genres’ page.
To set up your Genres manually click on ‘Genres’ in the left-hand menu.
To add a Genre, click on ‘Add Genre’, enter the Genre name and click on the green check.
To add Subgenres click on the small plus sign to the left of the Genre folder and click ‘Add Subgenre’. Then enter then Subgenre name and click on the green check.
You can have as many Genres and Subgenres as you want.
Genres are applied to tracks as part of each track’s metadata on the ‘Edit Track’ page (‘Tracks/Songs’ > select track > Edit).
Each track can have up to 6 Genre/Sub-Genre sets. By default, it is set to 1 set. To define the number of sets you want to have, go to ‘Store & Settings’ and click on ‘Change Store Filters’…
… then select the number of Genre/Subgenre Sets you need from the pull-down menu. More info on that can be found here.
